Brayton Dominates Australia Supercross Opener P enrite Factory Honda Rac- ing Team's Justin Brayton dominated the opening round of the 2019 Australian Supercross Championship at the Brisbane Enterainment Centre, October 12. The defending champ, Bray- ton, led every lap of the two SX1 main events to take the win. In the first 12-lap feature race, Brayton finished comfortably ahead of his teammate Brett Met- calfe, who held off CDR/Yamaha Monster Energy's Dan Reardon at the finish line. Reardon's teammate Luke Clout was fourth, followed by Empire Kawasaki's Lawson Bopping. In race two, Brayton led the troops across the finish line with four seconds to spare over Rear- don, with Clout finishing third, Dylon Long (Empire Kawasaki) taking fourth, and Metcalfe round out the top five. Overall, Brayton took top honors with 1-1 results, followed by Reardon (3-2), Clout (4-3), Metcalfe (2-5) and Long (7-4). "We had a good night tonight; the Penrite Honda felt great all day and overall we're pumped— it's always important to leave round one on a high note," Bray- ton said. In the SX2 division, Jacob Hayes (Serco Yamaha) took the overall win with 3-1 results, fol- lowed by Aaron Tanti (Yamaha, 2-3), Chris Blose (Honda, 4-2), Joshua Osby (KTM, 1-5) and Jay Wilson (Yamaha, 7-4).
