MOTOCROSS RED BULL STRAIGHT RHY THM OCTOBER 5, 2019 L A COUNT Y FAIRGROUNDS / POMONA, CALIFORNIA P82 125cc In the 125cc class, Joey Crown owned the action all night, quali- fying first, and then moving past Carlen Gardner ("Jessy Nelson") and AJ Catanzaro ("Travis Pastra- na") to move into the final, where he faced off against Michael Leib ("Ernesto Fonseca") and won. Young talent Max Vohland crashed out of the event in the semi-finals trying to beat Leib and walked off with what appeared to be a hurt shoulder. Catanzaro took third overall. "It's pretty sweet that Red Bull puts this on, being that it's a one- off race, and the two-strokes add a lot more fun to it. Everyone has a good time building the bikes and HANSEN WITH HONDA Josh Hansen has been doing a lot of testing with Honda, along with former factory racer Trey Canard, so he was at least happy that Ken Roczen won. "I help out Kenny [Roczen]'s whole deal, so that's my guy," Hansen said. "As much as I'm racing against him, I don't want to see him get hurt. That's my dude. I love Kenny. I love to see him win- ning championships. So, I'm glad he won tonight, if it couldn't be me! It's been a good thing. Honda's really helped me and stepped in to make me one of the family and try to help out their deal, and it's a re- ally healthy situation. I'm excited to be a part of that whole program." ROCZEN RECOVERING Ken Roczen has been dealing with an illness all year, but he says he hopes things are looking up after he got to take some time off. "It'll be interesting to see once I start legitimately training hard, and see where recovery is at," Roczen said. "So, I guess we'll see. I fly to Florida on Friday to start my legit training the following Monday, so I guess we'll see how everything goes from there. Because when I'm not doing anything, I feel okay now, but it'll be interesting to see how I feel later. Throughout the season, I'm never not doing anything, so it's hard to know how it's going to go when I start training again, and see if it relapses or not. We'll see!" Briefly... AJ Catanzaro (left) took third on a Travis Pastrana-replica Suzuki but look closely, that's not a Suzuki.
