Hansen was fast all day and nearly took down his Honda rac- ing buddy, Ken Roczen ("Jeremy McGrath"), in the semi-finals, but Roczen was just able to put him away and move into the final, while Hansen had to race Brown for the third-place trophy, which Hansen won. There were only two entries in the 500cc two-stroke class, Tyler Bowers and Travis Pastrana. Bowers took the overall victory but Pastrana did get a moto win despite doing a backflip in every race. "Everybody's all, 'Oh, well you don't race that much any- more!' But that's all excuses," Hansen said. "If I come here, I'm trying to race, and if I'm rac- ing, I'm trying to win. If I want to come here and just have a good time, I can be up in the stands, you know? Or go to the dunes. I'm really disappointed in myself right now!"
