"That's it! We did it!" said Freeman after Sun- day's race. "I do not have a lot of words to describe what I'm feeling. This sea- son was so complicated and tough; I can tell you that it took a lot of will to fulfill this dream. I am En- duroGP World Champion, and it feels great!" For the year, Freeman totaled 237 points to Hol- combe's 226 and McCan- ney's 196. Freeman also won the E1-class title over Thomas Oldrati (Honda), 250-209. Frenchman and TM rider Larrieu finished out the season winning the E2 title in front of the home fans, but not before battling the Italian, Salvini, right down to the wire. It was an exciting battle for the title that came right down to the last test between the two rivals. "To win this title in front of the French public is something really special," Larrieu said. "This title represents a lot for me. I want to thank the entire TM Racing team, my entourage and my partners. It's a great reward after a year that was difficult with a new con- structor and little preparation. It's just perfect, it's my year." "I got beaten again at the last race of the year, but this time it was nothing like what happened in 2018," Salvini said. "This year the fight was really beautiful with Loic, and even though I am very disappointed not to be cham- pion, I realized what I am capable of. This year was tough, but I am happy to have managed to run my own team—we will come back even stronger." Larrieu edged out Salvini for the E2 Championship by just four points. It wasn't all bad for Holcombe. He might've lost the EnduroGP title to the young star, Freeman, but he did come away with the E3-class Championship that he clinched in France on Saturday. Holcombe struggled with health issues all season, so all was not lost by winning the class title. "This season was really very complicated for me," Holcombe said. "The virus I've carried all year has really destroyed me; I had to let everything go. I fought hard and this title is a great reward for all of us. I would have loved to fight for more, but we must also recognize our failures." Holcombe wrapped up the E3 title with some breathing room over McCanney, 271-247. CN Overall Saturday 1.
