FLAT TRACK AMERICAN FL AT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 18/SEPTEMBER 21, 2019 CANTERBURY PARK/MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA P78 and I stuck with it after he got by me," Rush said. "I made it work, and I knew my Honda was on point tonight. It runs like a champ. Big thanks to the whole team and everyone who supports us." Gauthier had worked his way into third on the last lap, but Dan- iels took it back on the final lap. Trent Lowe had followed Gauthier from the back and grabbed fifth, his best finish as an AFT Singles rider. Mischler, Whale, Cose, Kitchen and Bromley made up the top 10. AFT PRODUCTION TWINS Attrition hit the AFT Production Twins class hard as break downs and crashes cut the 17 entries down, and only 12 riders started the 15-lap main event. ing/Monster Energy, Yamaha YZ450F), Brandon Kitchen (Don- ley Excavating/D&D Cycles, Hon- da CRF450R), Morgen Mischler (Waters Autobody Racing/D&D Powersports, KTM 450 SX-F) and Max Whale (Kawasaki Motors/ Shoei Australia, Kawasaki KX450) made up the next pack and every- one was running Rush down. On lap 10, Wells took the lead, but Rush kept fighting back retak- ing the lead for good on lap 13. Wells made one last drive off turn four on the final lap but came up 0.004 of a second short. "I really thought I had him, but it's okay it was just such a fun race, said Wells. "It would have been good to win, though." "Ryan showed me a killer line, IIIMY OWN RACE: so I decided, screw it, and I went back up there. I clipped the air fence down there. I was happy with my ride. Obvi- ously, I would have liked to have been on the podium. It's all good. Bryan and I had a good race going, and then Briar joined in, and we had three lines interchanging. His was way out there. He had just enough momentum where I was kind of using that line but wasn't using it as much as he was. It kind of cut my line off. If I would have go en in behind him, I would have been blown back. I had to start changing but wasn't able to adjust quick enough to keep rolling. We were right there. At the beginning of the main event, obviously it was wet, but I don't think they could see the air fence. There was so much roost flying that they don't know they are up there. I flicked it in and drove across, and it was fine for me, but I flicked it in on the gas and drove that way. They were driving in s ll. It might have been we er up there and sucked them in. They couldn't see. Hopefully, everybody is all right." Mikey Rush (15) held off Ryan Wells (94) to win the AFT Singles main event.
