Whipple Wins Missouri OMA
T
he Kirkpatrick Family Land
north of Memphis, Missouri,
hosted round four of the OMA
Nationals Pro-Am Series, Sep-
tember 21. This round was re-
scheduled from an early-season
rainout, and the weather forecast
was a bit sketchy for this event,
as well. Spotty rain in the morning
cleared, and the pro-am group
headed for the woods for the
scheduled one hour and 45-min-
ute-plus-one-lap race.
Tanner Whipple (KTM/Moose
Racing/Hoosier) took the win
after eight laps of battle, followed
by Matt McDonald (KTM/Moose
Racing/Hoosier) and Cole
Zuidema (KTM/Moose Racing/
Kenda) finishing just seven sec-
onds behind McDonald.
Zuidema took the holeshot and
held the lead for a bit, then Whip-
ple and McDonald got around
him. The trio of young KTM riders
gapped the field, putting in seven
laps of great racing in conditions
that were near perfect. Unfortu-
nately, the race leader, Whipple,
crossed the check on lap six at
one hour and 41 minutes, four
minutes short of the race time
schedule, thus sending them out
for an additional lap before the
white flag would fly.
As if on cue, the skies opened
