Steward Baylor Gets The Lead Out
S
teward Baylor capitalized on
a mistake by his brother and
Tely Energy Racing teammate,
Grant Baylor, in the final test at
the Lead Belt National Enduro in
Park Hills, Missouri, September
8, to pinch a come-from-behind
victory.
With the win, Steward put
a stop to Grant's two-race win
streak, which also represented
12-straight test wins.
Grant appeared to be picking
up where he left off in the last
round in Pennsylvania when he
won the first two tests in Mis-
souri. However, the momentum
seemed to change when Steward
edged Grant by four seconds to
win test three.

the next two tests, Grant entered
the rocky sixth and final test
holding a 23-second lead over
Steward, only to lose it plus some
when he went down in Park Hill's
infamous waterfall section.
When the timesheets were
tallied at the end of the race,
Steward ended up pulling out a
surprise win by 15.517-seconds
over Grant.
Not only did Steward put an
end to Grant's streak, but he
also squashed any hopes Grant
had of catching his brother in the
championship chase.
"When Grant started off win-
ning the first two tests I was start-
ing to think he was unstoppable,"
said Steward. "But I knew if I
could just stay close to him head-
ing into the final test, I might be
able to pull out a win. I have won
this race four times, and each
