UP FOR GRABS With just three races remaining on the 2019 schedule— one half mile and two miles—championships are still up for grabs. In the AFT Twins points race, Jared Mees did all he could to close the gap on Briar Bauman, and he was able to knock 13 points off Bauman's lead. It is now down to 25 points, the same as a win. Both riders have now used their provisional start cards, so there will be no more "do-overs." Any problems could be devastat- ing. Bronson Bauman is third, 40 points back of Mees. Cory Texter sits atop the AFT Production Twins points race, where he has been all year. Kolby Carlile has slipped into second, one point ahead of Ryan Varnes, but still 23 down to Texter. Dalton Gauthier's win on Friday gives him a five-point advantage over defending class champion Dan Bromley in the AFT Singles class. Mikey Rush sits in third 25 points behind Gauthier. Briefly... Mees (1) held on to win Monday's rain- delayed Springfield Mile 2 in what was a fantastic race.
