MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL/AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 12 / AUGUST 24, 2019 CRAWFORDSVILLE, INDIANA / IRONMAN RACEWAY P64 Roczen was second, and Tomac was third, followed at a distance by Savatgy, the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna duo of Zach Osborne and Jason Anderson, and Monster Energy Yamaha's Justin Barcia. Savatgy got the holeshot again in moto two and was again quickly passed by Roczen, but Musquin went down hard in the third turn when he tangled with his training partner Osborne and high-sided. After such an epic first moto, where he passed both of his main 450MX title rivals, Musquin ended the day—and the series—being carted off the track by the Alpine- stars Medical crew with an injured knee. Roczen again led for quite some time. But Roczen's illness caught up with him, and he eventually suc- cumbed to the pressure by Tomac, who went on to win the moto and the overall. "Even though the title was West title defense (and possibly his 450SX SX debut on the East Coast) while Cianciarulo packs his bags and heads over to the Mon- ster Energy Kawasaki semi to team up with 450MX champ Eli Tomac in 2020. 450MX In his last race as Tomac's team- mate at Monster Energy Kawasaki, Joey Savatgy grabbed the holeshot in both motos at the finale, and in the first moto, he was quickly passed by Honda's Ken Roczen, who came into the last race of the year trailing Red Bull KTM's Marvin Musquin by five points for second in the championship. Roczen led nearly the entire moto while fending off Tomac, and then late in the moto, both came under attack from Musquin, who passed Tomac and then immediately went after Roczen, passing him as well and taking off to win the first moto. IIIMY OWN RACE: ing him to miss Budds Creek. "It's an awesome feeling to end the season like this," Savatgy said. "Obviously, we had a good supercross season, and it didn't end great. And we've been struggling a lot. It's been a tough year, to say the least, from the highs that we've had in supercross to the lows that we've had outdoors, and I keep going home, and I keep working." 51 JUSTIN BARCIA 450MX (7-4) Jus n Barcia had a good final three rounds of the outdoor season and finished out the year with a top-five at the Indiana finale. "It feels good. We rode really strong today," Barcia said. "We just made a lot of improvements throughout the year. It's unfortunate we came alive this late in the season— it's over now—but I proved we s ll have the speed. We were searching all year, but it feels good, and we're going to keep working for next season." 32 JUSTIN COOPER 250MX (3-2) Jus n Cooper had a solid day in Indiana for second overall and looks forward to racing for Team USA in the Dutch sand at next month's Motocross of Na ons. "I realized Dylan [Ferrandis] had a 1-1 going, so I knew even if I got him, it wouldn't do much for the overall," 2019 450MX Champion Eli Tomac finished out the season with the overall win.
