Lettenbichler won his group in
Knockout 2, which saw the rid-
ers grouped into five groups of
five riders (based on Knockout 1
results), and easily advanced to
Nearly 400 riders, amateurs
and pros participated in this
year's ninth running of the event,
which started on Friday with a
prologue race to determine start-
ing positions for amateur races
on Saturday.
In addition to Friday's pro-
logue, Saturday featured two
elimination races that advanced
30 amateur riders into the Sun-
day program, which included 27
pre-qualified pro riders.
Saturday also featured the
Women's final, which was won
by Beta USA's Rachel Gutish,
with KTM riders Shelby Turner
and Nicole Bradford finishing
second and third, respectively.
Sunday started with a hot lap
which played out on the one-mile
short course, which determined
the starting order for Knockout 1.
Lettenbichler easily topped the
list, finishing with a 5.748-sec-
ond advantage over Roman.
