Hill Wins New York Motoclimb
M
onster Energy's Josh Hill
won the world-famous
Poags Hole Hillclimb, which was
round three of the IRC Moto-
climb Super Series in Dansville,
New York, August 17-18.
Riding his Junior Jackson
YZ450F with Xtnded swingarm
extensions, and Jay Sallstrom's
Yamaha R6 running on nitro-
methane, Hill finished first in the
450cc main event and second in
the Open classes, securing the
overall victory.
John Koester finished second
overall with a dominant win in
the Open class, but a fifth place
in the 450 main took him out of
contention for the overall victory.
Austin Teyler was in third
overall with a 4-3 finish in the two
classes.
The 750-foot long Poags Hole
hill was tough, as it usually is,
with only 10 riders making it over
the top, but the some of the
world's best hillclimbers put on
an excellent show for the 6000-
plus spectators.
This was Hill's first attempt rac-
ing a Motoclimb race, and he left
impressed with the whole event
and said he had a blast racing
this extreme sport. Hill says he
will also compete in next event
at the Millville Hillclimb at the
Spring Creek MX Park in Minne-
sota, September 14.
