IIIMY OWN RACE: 21 JASON ANDERSON 2ND 450MX (4-2) Jason Anderson had a great day at Budds Creek and scored his first po- dium moto finish since RedBud, along with second overall. "I'm just trying to build my base going into next super- cross season," Anderson said. "I feel like I'm ge ng be er. Some mes, my starts aren't there, so that puts me in the back, but this summer has been a heck of a me for me. I've enjoyed it. I've been pu ng consistent results and ba ling with these guys, so to get on the podium at Budds Creek, one of my favorite tracks, it's awesome." MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 11 / AUGUST 17, 2019 BUDDS CREEK RACEWAY / BUDDS CREEK, MARYL AND P62 Husqvarna duo of Jason Anderson and Zach Osborne. Monster Energy Yamaha's Justin Barcia gave Osborne fits for a while during the moto but ended up sixth, in front of Bogle's team- mate Benny Bloss, Dean Wilson (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna), Aaron Plessinger (Monster Energy Yamaha) and privateer Honda racers John Short and Kyle Cun- ningham. Osborne got the holeshot in moto two after pushing Musquin wide in turn one, but it was again Tomac who immediately pounced and took the lead away, then sprinted off with his second moto win of the day. Roczen again ran second early, but he's still dealing with a mystery illness, and the heat was intense at Budds Creek, so points, while Mumford has six. Team racer Jo Shimoda, who is scheduled to be pro full-time in 2020, crashed out of his first two professional motos at Unadilla and vowed to calm down and keep it on two wheels at Budds Creek, and he did that, going 13-12 for 13th overall. COVINGTON RETURNS Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Thom- as Covington has been sitting out the 2019 championship since round four with the Epstein-Barr virus but thought he was ready to go for Budds Creek. But the illness was exacer- bated by the heat, and he ended up going 26-34 on the day. His rookie teammate Jalek Swoll sat out Budds Creek and will sit out the finale as well, with a groin injury he suffered at the Loretta Lynn's Amateur Nation- als a week before his pro debut at Unadilla. MARCHBANKS' DNF Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawa- saki's Garrett Marchbanks missed a big chunk of the series with an injury incurred in a big crash at High Point, round four, but had been duking it out around the tail end of the top 10 since he got back at it. At Budds Creek, he tweaked his ankle in the opening moto and couldn't finish out the day. PRIVATEERS Honda privateer Kyle Cunningham grabbed a top-10 overall (11-8 moto finishes) at Budds Creek as a true privateer, with his dad wrenching on his machine like the old days. In the series, TPJ Racing Honda-backed privateer John Short is the top pri- vateer at the moment, in 14th in the championship chase, with 22 points to spare over the next privateer, Briefly... Justin Bogle (19) led the start of the first moto, but no one was going to stop Tomac on this day.
