Tricky conditions after wet warm-
up meant an officially wet race, but
with everyone on slicks, looking for
the dry line, coming off a grid mas-
sively reshuffled by overnight penal-
ties for 16 riders.
Romano Fenati (Snipers Honda)
made the most of it, escaping over
the closing laps to win by just over
a second from a growing battle for
second. It was the Italian's first win
since 2017.
For most of the race, it was be-
tween his teammate Tony Arbolino and
pole starter John McPhee (Petronas
Honda). But in the closing laps, they

"We never expected to be able to finish
on the podium at this track, but I man-
aged to get a good start, and when Marc
[Marquez] and Andrea [Dovizioso] went
a li le bit wide, it let me through. The
first five laps in the lead were the most
difficult. Taking the so re was a bet,
but we learned many things in this race,
and it paid off. I knew that the leaders
could always push each other wide or
something, so I tried to push all race to
stay close to them just in case. I hope that
next me I can be in the fight for the win
with them!"
Espargaro's KTM died on the second
corner, leaving Cal Crutchlow nowhere
to go but up into Tito Rabat and out of
the race.
