I've always been an RV fan, and I think it's obvious he is still competitive, [but] he is probably a lot happier being able to pick his rides and not stressed out about winning every weekend for 10 months out of the year, and without the constant nagging inju- ries that go with being a premier factory racer. Over the top! James Bonecrusher Smith Cole Seely Retirement Man, it goes by fast! I was thinking he was only 25, but I was wrong. It was a super pleasure to watch Cole ride—a very smooth rider. Sad to see him go. I wish the best for you, Cole! Dan Slanker I wish you the best. Get that CRF450L dual sport out and just slow it down and enjoy riding again. Order a pizza and have a cold one. Martin Wolf Cole's career is going to be full of "what ifs." He had the speed. But he had a ton of injuries. Unfortu- nately, this sport requires 100% fit- ness for an entire pre-season and then full season of racing to win a championship. Even a sprained ankle can reduce a rider's ability to train at a peak level, and there go the results down the toilet. Cole seems like a super-cool guy who always put his heart on the line. At least he can say he never gave up and always fought to come back from injury time and again. That's freakin' manly. Good luck! Howard Halterman Hey, Cole, enjoy your life away from racing. You deserve a break. Hope to see you at the drift track. Smart man for knowing when to hang it up. Scott N Tammy Lewis In The Paddock: Too Much Of A Good Thing? It's all about the money, as it is in F1 racing, to line the organizations' pockets. So right, on every state- ment in the article. Shawn McDonald Couldn't disagree more with this article. First of all, comparing the current schedule to the early days is irrelevant. Every sport progress- es. Should MotoGP go back to an eight- or 10-race season? The one thing I've always hated about any of the road-racing series is the random scheduling. There're two, three, up to five or six weeks between races—good luck attract- ing viewers when there's no racing for weeks in between. I wonder how the NFL and NASCAR ratings would change if they did that. The article states: "Wouldn't a race pretty much every weekend mean more chance for MotoGP to get elbowed aside by other sports?" That makes no sense. Doesn't skipping weeks at a time make people forget about it? Supercross goes 17 rounds in 18 weeks, which means I don't have to wonder every weekend if it'll be on. If 30 races can be fit into the current time frame with seven weeks off then, 20-22 races should work. The article is right that more races mean more money for promoters, but if it in- creases popularity, then eventually the riders will start seeing some of that. I'm sure none of them will complain about that. Ken Bateman "Cole seems like a super-cool guy who always put his heart on the line."
