Colin Edwards and Jimmy Button shared the cover of Cycle News
20 years ago. Edwards won both legs of the World Superbike rounds
at Brands Hatch, while Button traded moto wins with Doug Henry to
win the 250cc MX class at Washougal; Brock Sellards won the 125cc
class… We had coverage of the Suzuka 8 Hours, where Honda riders
Tadayuki Okada and Alex Barros teamed up to get the win over the
Aaron Slight/Colin Edwards (Honda) duo… Mike Lafferty won the
Paul Bunyan National Enduro in Minnesota.
Randy Hawkins made front-page news for winning the Pole Pen National
Enduro in Mississippi, where Jeff Russell and Kevin Hines joined him on
the podium. Winner Tyson Vohland and Jim Holley were also pictured
on the cover from the L.A. Coliseum Ultracross. On the cover we also ran
a photo of our Buell RR1200 test bike… We had coverage of the Farleigh
Castle 500cc MXGP, where England's Dave Thorpe won both motos.
