Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Hon) 3. Tony Arbolino (Hon) 4. Jaume Masia (KTM) 5. Niccolo Antonelli (Hon) Antonelli (SIC58 Honda) and impressive fifth after start- ing from pit lane (he'd stalled on the formation grid), then talented Japanese rookie Ai Ogura (Honda Team Asia). Andrea Migno (Bester KTM) was a couple of tenths down in seventh, then early leader Romano Fenati (Snipers Honda); with the KTMs of poor qualifiers Jakub Kornfeil and Darryn Binder completing the top ten. Front-row starter John McPhee (Petronas Honda) had electronic problems on the line, with the bike selecting the pit-lane speed-limiter program. He raised his arm as he crawled away, riders swerving past on either side, but was clobbered from behind by wild card Yuki Kunii (Honda), who landed apparently unconscious in the track, then limped away, but suffered hand fractures. McPhee made it to his pit but had to be lifted off his bike with painful left leg injuries. Canet leads Dalla Porta 148 to 145, followed by An- tonelli (98), Arbolino (93) and Masia (78). CN Aron Canet (44) played his cards perfectly at Brno, stealing a last-lap win over Dalla Porta (48).
