MOTOGP FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 12 / AUGUST 2-4, 2019 AUTOMOTODROM BRNO / BRNO, CZECH REPUBLIC P66 almost within reach. With one more lap, Crutchlow might have been ahead. Rossi was a lone sixth; Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha) had got ahead of Petrucci on lap four and stayed there. Taka Nakagami (LCR Honda) had been behind Crutchlow after the start but wasn't able to move forward, staying in ninth to resume the top-10 record, interrupted when Rossi knocked him off at Assen. But he retained the place by less than a second. In the latter half of the race, in a return of the slow-start/fast- finish syndrome that Maver- ick Vinales thought he had put behind him, the Monster Yamaha picked through and closed right up. Espargaro's KTM was a lone 11th; Pecco Bag- naia (Pramac Ducati) 12th, Miguel Oliveira (KTM) 13th, and Zarco regained 14th from Lorenzo's Repsol Honda sub Stefan Bradl on the final lap for the last points, with Tito Rabat (Ducati) 16th. After running in the top 10 after the start, a loss of rear grip consigned Aleix Espar- garo to 18th, even behind teammate Andrea Iannone. Joan Mir (Ecstar Su- zuki) and Franco Morbidelli (Petronas Yamaha) crashed out together on the first lap in an incident triggered by Zarco; Syahrin fell a few laps later. Thus Marquez extended his points lead yet again, 210 to Dovi's 147; then Petrucci 129, Rins 114 and Vinales 91. (Above) Jack Miller was ecstatic to land a "real" dry-weather podium finally. (Right) Marquez (center) extends his points lead yet further to a massive 67 points over Dovi (left).
