The strongest ride behind them came from Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) who had been 11th on the grid after getting bam- boozled by the wet qualifying. He finished the first lap eighth, quickly set about Danilo Pe- trucci's factory Ducati, and then tailed Rossi past Espargaro. By lap eight he was ahead of the Yamaha and even closing on the lead group, but they were too far away until the fading Rins came (Above) Valentino Rossi had Cal Crutchlow hounding him for the first 10 laps until the Brit made his way past. (Below) Johann Zarco's dream front-row start marked another disappointing race with the Frenchman ending up 14th.
