"It was crazy," Ferrandis said. "I got a really good start, and I'm really
happy today to get two good starts, and I gave everything in the sec-
ond corner to take the lead. AC [Adam Cianciarulo] was there already,
and I was like, 'Okay, now we're going to see who's the best!' I gave
everything I had. I wasn't at my limit, but I was really close, and I think
[he was], too, because we really pushed. We used so many lines,
and so many skills on the track. It was gnarly. I think we put on a good
show. It's fun to battle with AC like this."
The win was Ferrandis's second of the year, following his other 1-1
performance at RedBud two races ago. The performance allowed him
to swallow up eight points from Cianciarulo's championship lead, but the
Kawasaki racer still leads the title chase by 28 with three rounds left.
The series now takes a weekend off before resuming at Unadilla Val-
ley Sports Center in New Berlin, New York, August 10. CN
