IN THE WIND P56 Shark Buys Nolan Helmets F rench brand Shark Helmets, known as the lid of choice for Jorge Lorenzo and Alex Lowes, has acquired Italian brand Nolan Helmets. It's actually a deal between Shark's parent company 2Ride Holding Group, which owns Shark, Bering, Ségura, Bagster and Cairn, taking over the Nolan Group, which consists of Nolan, X-Lite and Grex. "We're thrilled today to be concluding this merger," said Patrick François, President of 2Ride Holding. "Our intent is to optimize all this Italian, French and European expertise in order to offer our global con- sumers more protective, and easier-to-use products. The Nolan and Shark brands, as well as their respective teams, both embrace the same values, dedi- cated to the safety of our riders, whether on a motorcycle or any other means of transportation. "As of now, our teams have begun to work together in the aim of building this future for our users." CN MV Agusta Teams With Chinese Brand Loncin I talian manufacturer MV Agusta Motor, and the Chinese industrial company Loncin Motor Co., Ltd., have entered a long-term agree- ment that has, as a base, the development of an all-new family of MV Agusta products in the 350- 500cc displacement. "This strategic alliance is an important step to consolidate our vision for the future of MV Agus- ta," said MV Agusta CEO Timur Sardarov. "Our target is to reaffirm our leadership in the production of upper-premium motorcycles, while also enlarging our customer base by offering a broader range of products without compromising our distinctive design and perfor- mance." The new bikes will be designed by MV Agusta and manufactured in China by Loncin. "The conclusion of the strate- gic agreement is conducive to Loncin's and MV Agusta's joint response to the changes in global market demand and to the coordi- nated development of both sides," said Loncin President, Yong Gao. "Loncin will use advanced manu- facturing resources and Chinese market knowledge to help MV Agusta expand its product line and enhance product competitive- ness." CN Shark Helmets have gobbled up iconic Italian brand Nolan. Sardarov and Yong shake hands. Chinese MV Agustas will now be a thing for the smaller capacity market.
