MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 8 / JULY 20, 2019 SPRING CREEK RACEWAY / MILLVILLE, MINNESOTA P72 this weekend at Millville. And both Ferrandis and Cooper had disappointing days. Points leader, Cianciarulo, went 3-1 at Millville to take the win and extend his champion- ship lead considerably. In the first 250MX moto, Cian- ciarulo snatched the holeshot, but he was quickly relegated to second by Geico Honda's Hunter Lawrence. Lawrence led the entire moto, while Ciancia- rulo made a couple of charges at him from second before a late- race crash cost him the spot. He ended up third behind JGR/ Yoshimura Suzuki's Alex Martin. Behind Cianciarulo came TLD/ win and now sits only five points behind Roczen in third and 16 behind Musquin in second. 250MX First, it was Monster Energy/ Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha's Justin Cooper who took the overall in Florida, the first race of 2019 that Adam Cianciarulo lost. Cianciarulo responded immediately by winning South- wick the following week. Then Cooper's teammate Dylan Fer- randis stepped up to go 1-1 at RedBud, marking Cianciarulo's second (and most resounding) loss of the year, then Cianciarulo jumped right back to the top IIIMY OWN RACE: 94 KEN ROCZEN 5TH 450MX (14-2) Ken Roczen has been struggling with a mystery illness for quite a few months now, but at Millville, he started looking like him- self again. In the first moto, he used some new motorcycle se ngs that hindered his forward progress significantly, but he went back to his old se ngs in moto two and nearly won it. "I've just been trying to get the bike a li le bit more towards my per- sonal liking," Roczen said. "Obviously, I tried something last week, and I tried it in my first moto, and it did not work out well, so I basi- cally just went back to my base [setup] and fought hard in that second moto. My body's definitely not having it, but I stand by never giving up and leaving nothing on the table, so, towards the end, on the last lap, I wasn't comfortable in the sand rollers, so I lost a lot there, and I just tried really hard to get him, and I was on him toward the finish, but it just wasn't enough. But it was definitely a good turnaround." 21 JASON ANDERSON 11TH 450MX (12-10) Jason Anderson had a terrible day at Mill- ville a er ba ling at or near the front for most of the outdoor series so far. In the first moto, he fell twice on the opening lap alone, and moto two didn't go a lot be er. "This weekend was probably the roughest weekend I've had in a couple years," Anderson said. "I ended up crash- ing a lot in both motos, and it didn't go my way at all." Points leader Adam Cianciarulo came away with a much-needed overall win in the 250MX class.
