VOLUME 56 ISSUE 29 JULY 23, 2019 P61 T he Italian manufacturer Beta has been keeping busy the last few months. Its line of 2020 RR and RR-S motorcycles is all new. The next-generation Beta range includes eight different engine sizes: four two- strokes (RR 125/200/250/300cc) and four street-legal four-strokes (RR-S 350/390/430/500cc). They all feature all-new engines and frames, updated subframes, tail section, seat, fuel tanks, bodywork, and many other details. Also new for 2020 is the ability for customers to order any RR or RR-S model straight from the factory with a two-inch lower seat height over the Beta's street-legal RR-S four-strokes are all new for 2020. stock models via mods to the suspen- sion. When it comes to the four-stroke RR-S (350/390/430/500cc), focus was to reduce weight and bulk of moving parts, which Beta says was achieved by raising the clutch and moving the crankshaft back. Beta claims that moving the center of gravity closer to the swingarm pivot makes for significantly better handling. Beta says overall weight has been reduced by 2.2 pounds. Other engine changes were made to the clutch and flywheel cov- ers, water pump, cylinder and head, twin injectors, lubrication, clutch, gear- ing, transmission and engine mapping. Both two-strokes and four-strokes get all-new narrower frames with redesigned geometry and rigidity for increased agility and stability. Beta says that weight is reduced and reliability boosted with the use of precision-cast components. They also say comfort is improved and vibration reduced. Voyager GPS is standard equipment on all 2020 RR-S models. MSRP 350 RR-S: ..... $10,599 390 RR-S:..... $10,699 430 RR-S: ..... $10,799 500 RR-S: .... $10,899
