Redding Smashes Snetterton
B
e Wiser Ducati rider Scott Redding took a
commanding double victory at the fifth round
of the British Superbike Championship, held at the
super-quick Snetterton venue July 20-21.
Redding managed to outfox Be Wiser teammate
Josh Brookes in both events after battles with
Brookes, Yamaha's Tarran Mackenzie and fellow
Ducati rider Tommy Bridewell.
The double victory now sees Redding hoisted
to a 38-point lead over Bridewell, 226 to 188, with
Brookes a further three points of Bridewell with
185 to his name.
"I felt better with the bike in
race two, I felt more comfort-
able and more confident, but
I didn't know whether I could
be faster," Redding said.
"Then when I passed Josh,
I went faster, so I learned I
need to believe in myself a bit
more."
"I'm still a rookie in this
class, and I don't know the
tracks, but to come back with a pole and two race
wins—I can't take much more."
In the Supersport category, Jack Kennedy
(Yamaha) took the two wins; Richard Cooper (Su-
zuki) earned the win in Superstock 1000; former
MotoAmerica Stock 1000 rider Shane Richardson
(Kawasaki) from New Zealand took the Superstock
600 win; Sean Neary and Rob Guiver took the
Ducati TriOptions Cup wins, and Fenton Seabright
(Honda) and Cameron Horsman (Honda) were the
winners in the Honda British Talent Cup. CN
