FLAT TRACK AMERICAN FLAT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 10/JULY 13, 2019 WEEDSPORT SPEEDWAY/WEEDSPORT, NEW YORK P80 the high side of me. I could hear something off the wall because it echoes a little bit. I took another look back at 15, and I couldn't believe that there wasn't even anyone on the same straightaway. I couldn't believe it, but the bike was working so stinking good." As the laps wore on, the battles drifted away, and the only passing was those of lapped riders. "Lapped traffic was not a problem. Everyone was really cool and got out of the way," said Bauman. "I did take a look back on lap 22, and I saw Ryan Varnes a couple of laps after I passed him because I thought someone was coming. Fortunately, it was just him, and we were okay." Wiles secured third on lap 10 and closed on Carver, but Wiles was never able to mount any kind of attack. Bronson Bauman and Pearson were fourth and fifth, respectively, al- most a half lap behind Briar. "It could have been 10 laps, and I would have been, 'man, I'm over this for sure.' With 30 laps, I was like, 'let's wrap this thing up.' I was stressing before the main event. I didn't know if I would need to go high or stay low. Dave Zano had the bike so locked down; I had to ride the bo om. It would do its job down there, and we would jump off the corner. I got a killer run off of turn two to get by Jeffrey [Carver]. I raced him into turn three, and I had him. I was really fortunate that the bike was so good tonight." 23 JEFFREY CARVER 2ND AFT TWINS "I had some moves, but Briar just had a li le more on us tonight," admi ed Jeffrey Carver. "We rode up a li le bit in one and two, but I rode on the bo om in three and four and on the straightaways. Briar rode the thing amazing. Their team behind him really got the thing planted. Ge ng off the corners on a track like this is what wins races. You have to have a bike and an amazing rider. With Briar and Dave Zano being together for a couple of years now, they are clicking."
