MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL/AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 7 / JULY 6, 2019 BUCHANAN, MICHIGAN / REDBUD RACEWAY P50 450MX Red Bull KTM's fast qualifier (for the first time in 2019) Cooper Webb got the holeshot to start the first 450MX moto, but he was quickly passed by Rocky Mountain ATV/MC KTM's Justin Bogle, who put in some heaters in the first few laps before Tomac was able to work his way past Webb and set out after Bogle. Tomac was mak- ing outside lines work around the track, including an outside line in an off-camber, which he used to go by both Webb, and then Bogle one lap later to take the lead. From there, Tomac was gone, leading by more than 15 seconds before he backed it down to take the moto win, which was the 40th moto win DEAN-O Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Dean Wilson returned to racing on Satur- day after missing the first six rounds of the series due to a shoulder in- jury sustained at the Denver SX. He had a first-lap fall in moto one, but still fought back to 12th, and then he improved on that with a strong seventh in moto two. "My first race back was a good race to work off of," Wilson said. "This was the first time I've ridden my outdoor bike all year, so I was just kind of gelling with it. I'm going to work off of this—I know what I need to do and I'll keep pushing for better results." ZACH-O Wilson's Rockstar Energy Husqvar- na teammate, Southwick moto-two winner Zach Osborne, however, was forced to miss RedBud despite trying to qualify earlier in the day. "I had a little practice crash on Thursday afternoon at the Baker's Factory, and I injured my collarbone and sternum connection [the ster- noclavicular joint], and it's just been a tough couple days since then; not much time to recover," Osborne said. "Obviously, I had to travel yes- terday, and my strength was really compromised this morning in prac- tice; I was in a lot of pain, and this is no place to be in either one of those situations, so the smart choice was to take this weekend and try to not make it any worse, and heal up and try to be good for the rest of the season." PENALTIES The first racer hit with a penalty by the AMA at RedBud was Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Jason Ander- Briefly... Eli Tomac won the first 450MX moto and went on to take the overall victory.
