but Musquin took the overall with
a 1-2 score, while Osborne's 3-1
landed him in second place, and
Tomac ended up third with a 2-3
score.
Webb ended up fourth in the
moto over Anderson, Barcia,
Noren, Joey Savatgy, TPJ Rac-
ing Honda's John Short and
Roczen.
"My start was awesome [in
the] first moto," Musquin said.
"I put myself in a great position
leading. It was a long moto.
When you lead from the very first
lap to the end it feels like forever.
I was very consistent and it was
great. Second moto obviously
gone, taking his first-ever 450
moto win.
But behind Osborne, there
was still quite a battle. Webb
fought to hold off Musquin and
Roczen early, but they both
went by. Roczen ran as high as
second before he again began
to fade, likely having something
to do with the mystery illness
he's been suffering from since
the AMA Supercross season.
Musquin took over the second
spot and came under attack
from Tomac around the halfway
point, but managed to pull back
away.
Osborne took the moto win,
at the finish. Fifth went to new
JGR/Yoshimura Suzuki recruit
Freddie Noren, just in front of
Monster Energy Yamaha's Justin
Barcia, Rockstar Husqvarna's
Jason Anderson, Barcia's team-
mate Dean Ferris and the Rocky
Mountain ATV/MC KTM trio of
Benny Bloss, Blake Baggett
and Justin Bogle. Roczen came
home just behind Bogle.
In the second moto, Webb
got the holeshot, but Osborne
quickly struck and took the lead
when Webb nearly fell, making a
great save. Osborne led his first-
ever 450-class lap on lap one
of the moto, and then he was
Eli Tomac is
usually a winner
at Southwick,
but had to settle
for third with a
2-3 finish.
