FLAT TRACK AMERICAN FLAT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 9 / JUNE 29, 2019 ALLEN COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS / LIMA, OH P82 Hodder Racing, Indian FTR750) and JD Beach (Estenson Rac- ing/Monster Energy, Yamaha MT-07) filled out the top ten. AFT SINGLES The 15-lap AFT Singles main event lacked the back and forth drama of the Twins race, but the large crowd erupted on lap six when Shayna Texter took the lead. Chad Cose and Dan Brom- ley had been battling over the lead while Texter worked her way to the front after a fourth- place start. Dalton Gauthier (D&D Cycles / Gobert Smash, Husqvarna FC450) initially held third, but faded. As soon as Texter took the lead it was obvious the race was for second. "My motorcycle was just working so good," Texter said. "I couldn't figure out how I "All in all, it was great. I made some good moves on him there at the finish," said Carver. "I ran the bales coming to the while flag. I wanted to do it coming to the checkered, but with Wiles being that close, I couldn't take a chance of him blocking me. It is a chess game out there. We did our best to get second tonight." Brandon Price finished a solid fourth, well ahead of a three-rider battle for fifth. Bronson Bauman (Indian Motorcycle/Progressive Insurance, Indian FTR750), Rob Pearson (RJ Performance/Hite Trucking, Indian FTR750) and Bryan Smith (Crosley Brands/ Howerton Motorsports, Kawa- saki Ninja 650) finished in that order. Davis Fisher (Bob Lan- phere Beaverton Motorcycles/ Dick Wall 60, Indian FTR750), Stephen Vanderkuur (Amsoil Inc/ harder and harder, but Carver was keeping pace, all the while hearing Wiles close on them both. "I knew Wiles was catch- ing us a little bit. I knew that with us doing the dicing it was slow- ing us down, but I think Wiles was catching us anyway," said Carver. "When I heard Wiles one lap, I just kicked it into high gear on the last couple laps and went for it." On the podium it was hard to tell if Mees was prouder of his win or of his and Nichole's event. "I had to ride the cushion to get the win. It just wore me out, said an exhausted Mees. "Jeffrey pressured me so hard. You know what, I'd rather win one like that than check out and be gone by a straightaway. I'm sure the fans loved it. It was such a great race." KTM riders Shaya Texter (52) and Dan Bromely (1) went 1-2 in the Singles class.
