Getting a little delirious out there with the heat anyway. It was definitely a really tough day. I was pushing so hard for that second moto. I was trying to win it, but Dylan was keeping me honest the whole moto and was able to get around me. I just felt good that moto. I felt comfortable on the bike. I felt like we made some good changes in-between motos and just flowing the way I wanted to. It was good to bounce back after a less-than-stellar weekend last weekend." Cooper cut eight points out of Cianciarulo's championship lead with his win and now trails Cian- ciarulo by 18 points with seven rounds (14 motos) left to run. CN ended up taking the overall in Florida without winning a moto, going 2-2 for the win. Ferrandis was second with a 4-1 and Cian- ciarulo was third with a 5-3. Behind them came Mosiman (3-5), Lawrence (8-4), Martin (7- 6), Colt Nichols (9-7), RJ Hamp- shire (6-11, after a fall off the start in moto two), Sexton (1-DNF) and Jacob Hayes (13-8). "It's a big weight off my shoul- ders," Cooper said of getting his first career national overall win. "To be honest, I kind of knew it. It was in the back of my head towards the end of the moto, but then I started getting the pit board, and it was pretty overwhelming. I couldn't really ride; honestly, I was just thinking Chase Sexton won the first 250MX moto, but it came at a cost.
