Let's Face It
Love the photo of Karl Davis
on pages 12-13 of the June 18,
2019, (#24) issue.
I never rode competitive trials
but did my share of amateur mo-
tocross and desert racing back
in my day. The look on his face
is one that all who have ever rid-
den a motorcycle in competition
will understand, regardless of
the speed.
In this day of full-face helmets,
we don't often get to see this
look, but we don't forget the feel-
ing. Hopefully, he didn't need a
full-face helmet for his landing.

BMW: Cruising Into
The Future
Beautiful bike. Stylish, and I bet
it still handles well.
I love that the foot controls are
under the rider. I do not like the
forward foot controls found on
most cruisers. This will be a hit. I
am sure it will get uglier with man-
dated reflectors and license-plate
mount, but kudos to you, BMW.

Archives: Smith
Vs. Hannah
Compelling. I never tire of reliv-
ing the roots of MX. Hannah is
the Godfather [of motocross].
Nice article.
Lance Gorton
Marty was my American Idol, but
Hannah was my hero.
Michelle Horton
Hannah turned the miracle save
to an art form.
Oscar Jolly
I remember watching them at
Red Bud in '76. Hardly anyone
knew who Hannah was and
when he beat Marty, it really
blew people's minds!
Michael Price
I worked at Honda and was
a huge Smith fan, naturally. I
remember being at the start-
ing gate at the L.A. Memorial
Coliseum staging for the second
moto. Hannah was late to arrive;
his bike was dirty, not cleaned
like all the other factory bikes.
Hannah and Keith McCarthy
revved his engine and banged
his bike, pushing everyone
out of his way to the front. He
scared everyone and went on to
win the L.A. Supercross race.
I became a fan of Hannah after
seeing him in person.
Wayne Nagata
Marty was one of the cool-
est and nicest guys in MX. He
always took time for us kids.
Awesome rider.

MV Agusta Brutale
1000 Review
It's... it's so beautiful, but I can
only dream. It'll be impossible to
buy it in my country, but, damn,
I want it so bad. I always loved
the curves and the style of MV.
Awesome job.
