awasaki introduced a new dual-
sport entry to its dual sport line-
up—the KLX230. Brand new for 2020,
the KLX230 will retail for $4599 and
arrive late summer.
The KLX230 features an all-new
233cc fuel-injected, air-cooled, four-
stroke engine that is nestled into a
steel perimeter frame. It has long-travel
suspension (37mm diameter forks)
with full-size wheels—21-inch front, 18-
inch rear. Seat height is 34.8 inches.
An ABS version will also be available
for an additional $300.
This same basic bike will also be
offered in off-road trim, sans light-
ing, mirrors and a license plate. The
KLX230R will retail for $4399 and also
arrive late summer. CN

The KLX230R is
essentially the
same motorcycle
as the KLX230
dual sport but in
off-road trim.
