MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 5 / JUNE 22, 2019 WW RANCH MOTOCROSS PARK / JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA P68 laps, only to go down hard in the sand rollers and DNF the moto. He DNF'd moto two as well, finish- ing only four laps. But he definitely showed that he has speed! His crash handed the lead to Cooper, who fought off Geico Honda's Chase Sexton for the point until about halfway, after which Sexton took over out front and sprinted away to his first- ever 250MX National moto win. Tomac left Florida six points ahead of Roczen as the series heads to the sandbox of MX338 in Southwick, Massachusetts, this coming Saturday. 250MX After four wins in a row to start the season, most would've bet that points leader Adam Cianciarulo— who is from Florida—would have been a shoo-in to take the WW Ranch round of the 2019 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Cham- pionships, but it wasn't to be. Instead, it was his primary cham- pionship rival, Monster Energy/ Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha's Justin Cooper, who won the opening moto at the first three rounds of the year but had never won an AMA National overall. TLD/Red Bull KTM's rookie Derek Drake grabbed the lead at the start of moto one and started to sprint away, taking a lead of over five seconds in the opening Overall, Musquin took the win with a 1-3 over Tomac's 7-1 and Osborne's 5-2. Anderson was fourth (3-4) over Webb (4-5) and Roczen (2-10). "Going into every weekend, the goal is to win, but the competi- tion is tough," Musquin said. "I had a rough start. I rode pretty good in Pala but definitely been searching with the bike setup and stuff. Actually went back to what worked last year when I had good races, and it worked out pretty good today. It definitely took a little while, fifth round. But like I said, the competition is tough. Everybody is pretty healthy. We've got Zach that moved up, and Jason that's back. Kenny is right there, and Eli is still here. So a lot of guys are capable of winning. We finally got a moto win. That was an awesome first moto and got the overall in one of the tough- est races of the season, so that's awesome." Justin Cooper finally got his first 250MX overall win of his career. Here he leads second- moto winner Dylan Ferrandis. Adam Cianciarulo saw his four-race overall win streak come to an end, but he still got on the podium.
