but both with the
same mechanical
makeup.
Today's economic climate dictates you need to do more with less. I
don't know any of my mates who are given free reins with budgets, re-
gardless of what industry it is they're in. The bike game is no different.
Manufacturers want the most bang possible for their buck, with many
spreading a single mechanical platform across multiple machines—
think Ducati Monster/Scrambler, Yamaha MT/Tracer, Kawasaki Ninja
400/Z400, BMW S 1000 RR/XR/S 1000 R.
Honda is no different, and for the 2018 model year, it did the same
with a naked and sport bike version of their venerable 649cc inline
four-cylinder with the CB650F and CBR650F.
