I
t was always going to be rough
at magic Mugello. There could
only be one winner of the
closest MotoGP race since the
multi-bike brawl at Assen last
year, and after almost 40 min-
utes, though some had fallen by
the wayside, there were still four
prime candidates as they started
the last beautiful lap.
Who would have thought
that by the end of it, the winner
wouldn't be able to stop apolo-
gizing?
That man was first-timer
Danilo Petrucci, and the "sorry,
so sorry" was meant for his Mis-
sion Winnow Ducati teammate
Andrea Dovizioso.
As they started the last lap,
Marc Marquez—waiting for the
moment—had put his plan into
action and taken the lead into
