Jordon Smith (KTM) 11-8 before maybe I've always kind of lacked a little bit of belief in myself. I think maybe Zach Os- borne should beat me, or maybe Jeremy Martin should beat me. I don't feel that now. I feel that I'm the guy, for lack of a better term, I guess. Not to be cocky, but that's the difference in me." Cooper was second overall, also for the third race in a row. The tie in points on the day left Cianciarulo and Cooper six points apart as the series heads to round four. Third in points, Ferrandis sits a further 27 points behind Cooper, in third. CN SIGHT IS NECESSARY In the first 450MX moto, Eli Tomac started outside the top 10, then as he was trying to move through the field, his goggle's roll-offs came apart on him, forc- ing him to stop for new goggles. He was still able to charge up to fifth, but the time he lost while he couldn't see, and the time he lost while switching goggles, may have made the difference be- tween finishing on the podium or not in the race. "It actually ended up being like a lens problem," Tomac said. "At first, I thought it was the tear-offs, and then I thought it was the roll-off film, and it ended up being the lens. So that was a bummer. I at least came in and recovered. In a per- fect world, I would have come in a lap earlier, but it was bad. I was riding like I was cross-eyed there for the first five or six laps. That was a bummer." Briefly... Justin Cooper (32) leads Adam Cianciarulo (92) out of the first turn in the 250MX class. Cooper won the first moto. Cianciarulo survived an off- track excursion in the second 250MX to take the overall win. cont. on p64
