Hickman Wins Isle of
Man Superbike TT

fter a week of varying weather conditions that saw multiple
delays to the practice and qualifying sessions, the 2019
Isle of Man TT race week finally got underway on June 3 with
Peter Hickman (Smiths Racing BMW) taking the Superbike TT
win over long-time rival Dean Harrison (Silkolene Kawasaki)
and Honda's Connor Cummins.

experienced TT racer having made his debut on the Mountain
Course in the 2013 Manx Grand Prix and with 19 TT race
starts to his name, crashed his Kawasaki ZX-10R at Snugbor-
ough, just over two miles into the course, on the third lap of
the race. Mathison succumbed to his injuries. He was 27.
An opening lap of 132.48 mph gave Harrison a lead over
Hickman of just one second with Cummins in third, 4.8 sec-
