I was like, 'This guy must be close,' and I kind of had to empty the tank in the energy depart- ment and kind of got away a little bit and was able to get it done." however, he went down soon after that, giving the lead back to Cianciarulo, who went on to win despite a strong comeback by Lawrence. Cianciarulo held on to take the win over Lawrence, Ferrandis and Cooper. "He [Lawrence] just had a couple lines on me," Ciancia- rulo said. "When he got by me, I just tried not to freak out and just tried to learn and see what I could do, maybe make a charge some expectation that the race would be restarted, the race continued. Shane McElrath (TLD/Red Bull KTM) led early, but he gave way to Ciancia- rulo on lap three. Cianciarulo soon had to deal with Hunter Lawrence (Geico Honda), who hounded Cianciarulo until pass- ing the points leader with a hand- ful of laps remaining. Just when it looked as though Lawrence had the moto win in the bag, Lawrence showed he has the speed to win in the 250MX class.
