FLAT TRACK AMERICAN FLAT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP P84 BY DAVE HOENIG PHOTOGRAPHY BY FLAT TRAK FOTOS M emorial Day Weekend in the dirt track world cen- ters on the Illinois State Fairgrounds and its illustrious mile oval but rain interrupted the show by forcing the postponement of Sunday's Mile event. Sipes (Red Bull/KTM, KTM 450 SX-F) had earned the pole position in the 15-lap main by winning the fastest semi of the night, and he led the main until a rare miscue left him on the ground on lap two.
