Shirey Wins Sage Riders
National Hare & Hound
D
alton Shirey (3 Bros./SRT
Husqvarna) recorded his
second career victory in the
Kenda/SRT AMA Hare & Hound
National Championship Series,
Presented by FMF, when he
won the Sage Riders Motorcycle
Club's Desert Devotional National
Hare & Hound at the Little Sahara
Recreation Area, round five of the
series, May 4.
However, it was runner-up Joe
Wasson who came out with the
biggest reward, the Beta rider
finishing 24 seconds ahead of
Off-Road Support/TBT Racing
Kawasaki's Jacob Argubright to
take the points lead going into
the summer break. Wasson now
has 131 points with Argubright
four points back and four rounds
remaining.
The top three got out front
early, their battle pushing them
away from the rest of the pack.
At first, it was Wasson and Shirey
going at it side by side much of
the time.
"I came in here with a game
plan to sprint the first loop to try
to get away from everyone," the P
Work/Zip-Ty Racing/Fly Racing
FC 450-mounted Shirey said.
