IN THE WIND P50 Webb Wins IRC Endurofest T he IRC Endurofest, presented by Sky Fiber Internet, hosted the AMA Nevada Extreme Off- Road Championship Saturday, May 4, in Sparks, Nevada. The one-day event consisted of a three-race format for the ama- teurs and pros fighting for the $10,000 purse, and two races for youth riders just getting into the sport. The morning race, the Baka Hard Enduro, was a 2.6-mile course that challenged all of the competitors as they had to climb steep, rocky hills and descend down loose grades. Cody Webb took the win of that race, completing four laps in the 1.5-hour minimum time limit. Trystan Hart, Max Ger- ston and Mitch Carvolth completed three laps in that time limit. In the words of Webb: "I have never had to use first gear so much in a race before." James Flynn won the amateur class for the Baka, being the only ama- teur completing two laps. In the afternoon, as- piring extreme off-road riders under the age of 16, competed in the American Junior Hard Enduro. With 15 youth riders in the Mini, Supermini and Schoolboy classes, they showed major po- tential that this sport has a bright future of talented young off-road riders rising through the ranks. In between the kid's races, the Pros competed in two, 20-minute Extreme motos in the arena of the Wild West Motorsports Park. Good battles and tough ob- stacles provided great spectating for the crowd in the bleachers. Webb took both wins, with Hart, Ty Tremaine and Gerston battling for the podium spots. With points being totaled like AMA motocross, Webb took the overall win and the AMA Nevada Extreme Off-Road Champion- ship. Hart and Gerston finished second and third, respectively. In the Amateur class, James Flynn won and finished eighth overall amongst the Pros. Dayne Tony was the only woman com- petitor of the day. Ruffin Dod- son won the Mini class, Ryder Thomaselli won the Supermini class and Angus Riordan won the Schoolboy class in the American Junior Hard Enduro. CN Cody Webb took the overall win at the IRC Endurofest in Sparks, Nevada.
