IN THE WIND P42 Staring Tops Australian SBK B ryan Staring (Kawasaki BCper- formance, Kawasaki ZX10RR) climbed to the top of the leader- board of the 2019 Motul Pirelli Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK). He accomplished this with a clean-sweep of all three races at The Bend Motorsport Park for round three of the championship during International MotoFest, which also hosted round two of the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC). In ASBK, Staring had the edge over his opponents in managing tire wear on the grippy Bend Motorsport Park surface, showing fantastic pace late in all three races to pick up the full 75 championship points. Staring also won race one of the Asia Road Racing Championship while filling in for injured rider Thiti- pong Warokorn on Kawasaki Thai- land Racing Team. Staring, however, had to settle for second place to Broc Parkes in race two. Still, it was an excellent weekend for the Austra- lian who claimed four races from a possible five across the two series. Tom Toparis (Yamaha) claimed the 600cc Supersport victory, as did Harry Khouri (Yamaha) in 300cc Supersport.
