[test] and just couldn't catch Argu-
bright [after that]."
Unlike Baker, this was Argu-
bright's first time to Little Gem,
and he had an inconsistent time
in the two tests on Saturday
aboard his Kawasaki of Simi
Valley/Golden Tyre/Fly Racing-
backed KX450: "I was good on
the first test, but the second test
he was quite a bit faster and he
pulled on me every time.
"I rode harder [on Sunday] and
rode good. He had a bit of bike
trouble. Like on the second test
yesterday, I had a crash, and I
kept making mistakes in the same
test, but today I just nailed every-
thing—no mistakes. It was good; it
was getting choppy, and I liked it.
"I struggled a little bit in the real
tight turns, but on the grass track,
I felt pretty good. I was a little out
of my element, but that's why I'm
here—to get better at it, and it can
only make me better."
Three times a member of the
U.S. ISDE team (and one of the
youngest riders ever at his first
one in 2012 when he was 16—the
minimum age), Knight finished a
solid third on Saturday and then
turned it up in the first two tests on
Sunday, giving him the first start
slot on the second time through.
The Knight Family/Nitro
Mousse/Division Suspension
250 XC-mounted rider said, "I felt
really good both days. My goal
this weekend was to go fast but
be consistent. At round one in
Ridgecrest, [California], I made
a mistake on the first day in the
first test that upset my scores a
little bit. I try my best not to make
those major mistakes where I lose
lots of time.
"I did have little flaws here and
there where you miss an arrow or
something, but overall I accom-
plished my goal. I'm really happy
with my weekend."
MojoMotorsport.com KTM
rider Anson Maloney finished a
strong fourth both days to im-
prove his chance of making the
team. Nic Garvin put in good
times on Saturday for fifth on
his Torco Honda, though Fox
Kawasaki-mounted Rory Sullivan
replaced him at that spot on Sun-
day after having a bit of trouble
adapting to the high-speed sec-
tions and placing eighth.
Kenda Kawasaki rider Jason
Densley became only the second
rider to lock in his spot on the
team by winning the E4 class for
Seniors on both days as he'd done
at round one. He'll join Texan Brian
Storrie who qualified by dominat-
ing E4 in the first two East Region
Qualifiers; the third spot is still up
for grabs, though. CN
Jason Densley became
the second man to win
his class in all four West
days so far and thus joins
the East's Brian Storrie
on the U.S. ISDE team's
E4 or Senior-class trio.
