Mees moved to second, but Beach almost as quickly stormed past both Mees and Carver. Carver held onto fourth ahead of Bronson Bauman (Indian Mo- torcycle/Progressive Insurance, Indian FTR750) and Jake John- son (Estenson Racing/Monster Energy, Yamaha MT-07). Kayl Kolkman (Kolkman Racing/ Stamped Concrete Design, Yamaha MT-07) had Harley-Da- vidson Motor Company/Vance & Hines teammates Sammy Hal- bert and Jarod Vanderkooi right were injured in big crashes on the front straight. Lee suffered collar- bone, wrist and arm fractures, while Lomas had ankle injuries. HEALING UP One rider on the mend from the Georgia Short Track is Dawson Schieffer. Dawson made the trip to Arizona from South Dakota to sign autographs and give away a "Strider Bike." The lucky winner this week was Hayden Mees, daughter of the Grand National Champion. TOP FIVE Defending Singles champ Dan Bromley (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) found it challenging to get to the front. He took fourth in his heat race, fifth in his semi and fifth in the main. He nearly had fourth in the main after passing Mikey Rush on the last lap but couldn't quite make it stick. "Overall, I'm happy with the finish," Bromley said. "We struggled a lot all day, and I was happy to be able to be comfort- able by the Main Event and make Briefly... Beach and Mees congratulate each other on their podium rides.
