AFT
PRODUCTION
TWINS
American Flat Track unveiled its
newest class, the AFT Production
Twins class. The class is open to
all AFT Twins licensed riders, and
all AFT Singles licensed competi-
tors who have reached the age of
18 years and have participated in
Fellow California rider, 16-year-
old James Ott (who was riding
his first AFT Pro Singles event)
had climbed all the way from 14th
on lap one to an impressive third
place and challenging for second.
Texter was able to pull out the
win by a scant .129 of a sec-
ond over Rush (RMR Honda/
Red Rider Rewards, Honda
CRF450R) with Ott just a breath
back. Last year's Fort Worth win-
ner, Mischler (Waters Autobody
Racing/D&D Powersports, KTM
450 SX-F) was less than a sec-
ond off the lead in fourth.
AFT Pro Singles points leader,
Tristan Avery, Mikey Rush,
Morgen Mischler and James
Rispoli were all looking to make
a move.
Rush was the first to get by,
but the crowd was roaring as
Shayna Texter was slicing her
way to the front from deep in the
field. She made short work of her
competition and was in the lead
by lap six of the 15-lap race.
For as fast as Texter had come
to the front, once there, she was
unable to shake Rush, and he
kept close enough to make a late
race challenge. However, Rush
discovered he was not alone.
Shayna Texter
(52) edged out
Mikey Rush
(15) for the AFT
Singles win.
