he Texas Motor Speedway hosted round
three of the 18-race American Flat Track
season on their tricky 3/8-mile dirt oval.
It was a night of firsts as defending AFT Twins
champion Jared Mees (Indian Motorcycles/
Progressive Insurance, Indian FTR750) ended
a seven-race winless streak by notching his first
victory of the 2019 campaign. "It felt so good to
get back on top," said Mees. "Of course that's
the goal, but this year is tougher. The guys are
better, and they've got their machines figured
out better. I've got to dig down deeper."
The ultra-competitive AFT Singles class also
featured its third different 2019 winner. Shayna
Texter (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing/Roof
Systems of Dallas, KTM 450 SX-F) quickly
overcame a shaky start and powered her way
to a convincing win. It was the first win for the
new Red Bull KTM Factory Racing effort. "It's
awesome to get the first win behind us. To give
