MOTOAMERICA AMA/FIM NORTH AMERICA ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 2 / APRIL 12-14, 2019 CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICAS / AUSTIN, TEXAS P92 weekend with fourth on the factory Yamaha; however, he didn't have the outright speed he showed in Saturday's race one in Sunday afternoon's encounter. Behind Gerloff, Jake Lewis had a lonely race in fifth, some 16 seconds off the Texan. He was, in turn, 19 seconds clear of Petersen, with Wyman, Anthony, Travis Wyman (Weir Racing BMW S 1000 RR) and Max Flinders (Yamaha) rounding out the top 10. In the championship, Elias holds down first with 90 points to Beaubier's 77, Herrin is next with 49, Mathew Scholtz, who had a disastrous weekend with seventh in race one and 13th in race two following technical problems sits fourth with 45, and JD Beach (5/ DNF) is fifth with 40. CN I lost everything, and I couldn't fight. It's okay. These things hap- pen in race. A little bit pissed off because I could fight a little bit more. Maybe we could have a big battle with Josh. Beaubier was happy enough with a close third, saying, "I gave 110 percent that race just to hang onto those guys. They were riding so good. The pace was a second and a half faster than it was yesterday. I don't know where the hell they found that. I was just hanging on for dear life. "All in all, I'm really happy that I was even able to keep pace with the Yosh boys this weekend. This is always a pretty tough track for us. It just gives me confidence going into the rest of the year." Gerloff capped off a good "Just mentally, I feel like I was a lot more prepared today," Herrin said. "We spent a lot of time at the track last night. We ran a different tire today, but it's two totally differ- ent weather conditions today, so I don't think that really had much to do with it for us. It feels so good to be able to get a win for Suzuki. Two wins this weekend. They won a MotoGP race, so it's a big day for them. Thank you to everybody at Suzuki and Yoshimura for be- lieving in me." Elias came home second with a myriad of issues on his factory Suzuki, complaining about tire performance and having gearbox problems. "I didn't expect at the end to have this little issue with the shifter," Elias said. "After that, Travis Wyman leads David Anthony in the battle of the privateers.
