39 COLT NICHOLS 3RD 250SX WEST
Colt Nichols often struggles at altitude, but that didn't happen this time in Denver. "Press
Day got canceled, so we didn't get to do any riding, but it was good; I got to come in early,
adjust to the altitude a little bit," Nichols said. "It usually kind of messes with me. I get sick
every year when we come to Lakewood, so I was really happy that did not happen this year.
But, it was definitely different. It snowed during the practices, and then the track got really
hard. The track was pretty simple, but it made it really technical the way the dirt was, so you
kind of had to be on your toes tonight. But, overall, can't complain; third place, I'm happy.
We just needed to start a little better, but it's all good."
36 MICHAEL MOSIMAN 5TH 250SX WEST
Michael Mosiman spent the first six laps of the Denver 250SX main event battling
for the lead with points leader Adam Cianciarulo. He eventually finished fifth. "I was
able to get off to good starts tonight, and I think that's what has really changed for
me this second half of the season," Mosiman said. "To be able to get out front and
lead some laps felt really good and was a huge confidence booster. It was a big-time
learning experience, and I was able to cherish the moment and stay relaxed through-
out the race."
