IN THE WIND P30 MX Sports Announces CBD Ruling For Outdoor Nationals M X Sports Pro Racing issued a competition bulletin regard- ing its own policy surrounding CBD product sponsorship for the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, with a particular specification regarding hemp- derived CBD products. Based on the evolving legal regulations within this space, broadcast standards surround- ing CBD products prohibits the appearance and mention of any CBD-related products during any on-air production. As a result, teams/riders will not be permitted to have any CBD-related logos on any item that may appear in-broadcast, nor will they be permitted to promote/mention the company/product on air. However, MX Sports Pro Rac- ing embraces the financial sup- port CBD companies can provide its participants and welcomes any sponsorship of said products, so long as participants comply with the aforementioned broadcast restrictions. Teams/riders are permitted to obtain sponsorship from hemp-derived CBD prod- ucts/companies only, and are welcome to display logos on team rigs and in their paddock display areas, make mention during any off-air interviews, make mention on social media, and otherwise promote their sponsor via non- broadcast means. MX Sports Pro Racing Managing Director Roy Janson said, "We recognize that there is an opportunity for growth in the sport of motocross within the cannabidiol space. Since it is not included on the USADA banned substance list, many of our competitors use it as a recovery supplement, so it is only natural that these products and the companies that make them would have interest in investing sponsorship dollars into a team, or individually with a rider. We fully support opportunities like this that benefit our competitors, and while federal regulations are still fluid in regards to the legal- ity of CBD products as a whole, we believe we have provided a much-needed compromise for hemp-derived CBD products and companies to support the sport." CN MIC Names 2019 Board Of Directors T he MIC board voted to re-elect Paul Vitrano of Indian Motorcycle and Polaris Industries as chair, Chuck Boderman of Honda, as vice chair, and Jim Woodruff of National Powersport Auctions as secretary/treasurer. The 12 directors also retained/elected Tim Buche as MIC presi- dent and CEO. Buche has served as the leader of the MIC's staff since 1996. In addition, Derek Brooks recently became Yamaha's new representative, appointed to the board, replacing Mike Doughty. Jeff Brown of EagleRider and Tim Calhoun of Helmet House were recently elected new members of the board.
