SUPERCROSS ROUND 14 / APRIL 7, 2019 NISSAN STADIUM / NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE P56 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS 450SX Some racers suffer under pres- sure, while others thrive. Webb appears to thrive under pres- sure. In Nashville, Webb came off of a poor qualifying result of 10th place, then got exactly the start he needed in his heat race, only to get clipped by Mike Alessi in a scary crash that put Webb on the ground. Things were not going well. But there was a red flag for another incident, and Webb en- joyed another bit of good luck. He got another great start and ended up second in the heat behind Joey Savatgy. Tomac was leading the race, but his bike broke, forcing him FORKNER'S MISFORTUNE After injuring his knee in practice, Forkner's team informed the AMA that he was going to try to rest the knee through the heat races and line up for the LCQ, but his knee was still not strong enough at that point, and Forkner was forced to sit out the Nashville event altogether. Forkner still holds a slim three-point lead over Sexton and seven points over Cooper in the title chase. With two rounds left to run in the East—New Jersey in three weeks, and the East/West Shootout in Las Vegas a week after that—Forkner will have to hope that he can ride very close to his healthy speed in the final two rounds in order to hold off Sexton and Cooper and take his first-ever professional title. STEWART, ENTICKNAP INJURIES There was a lengthy stoppage during the first 450SX heat race. A re-start was needed when privateers Ron- nie Stewart and Tyler Enticknap went down together. Both riders are expected to recover fully. Stewart reported that he suffered a concus- sion and bruising on his body and lung. "It could've been a lot worse," he said. Enticknap reported that he is scheduled to undergo surgery on his sacrum and pelvis on Monday, April 8. "Unfortunately this was a racing accident and my heart goes out to Briefly... Things keep going Cooper Webb's way. He hasn't always been the fastest, but he continues building his points lead.
