MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS, AN FIM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

I
t has long been said that championships are
won on your bad days. By most ways of look-
ing at it, Cooper Webb was having a bad day
in Nashville, struggling for 10th in qualifying, and
getting landed on in his heat race, but as we've
seen throughout the 2019 Monster Energy AMA
Supercross Championship when the pressure
was on, Webb delivers. He was no match for
the speed of Eli Tomac or even second-placed
Blake Baggett, but Webb put himself in the right
position throughout the night to capitalize on the
misfortunes of others and leave Nashville with a
larger points lead than what he came in with.
The 250SX East Championship leader, Austin
Forkner, also had a bad day in Nashville, but his
bad day was really bad, as he was unable to
race due to a knee injury he suffered in practice,
and now his points lead has dwindled to just
three with two rounds remaining. And that points
lead may not even matter if his knee won't allow
him to race in New Jersey in three weeks.
