Toth Tough in Tennessee
T
hose who follow the Kenda Full
Gas Sprint Enduro Series know
it was just a matter of time before
Josh Toth would get his first win.
The Connecticut rider has been
getting his share of test wins, and
surely it wouldn't be long before
he strung enough together to get a
victory.
At the Kenda Full Gas Sprint En-
duro round in Greeneville, Tennes-
see, April 6-7, Toth won four of the
six tests and was just consistent
enough in the remaining tests to
bag that first win.
Toth's FMF/KTM teammate,
Kailub Russell, had more test wins,
six in all, but a mistake in the sec-
ond test on Saturday was just too
costly, dropping the North Carolin-
ian to second overall, 23 seconds
behind Toth.
The Tennessee race was super
competitive among the top three:
Toth, Russell and Rockstar Energy
Husqvarna's Thad Duvall, who was
just a half-second behind Russell
at the finish for third overall.
Russell and Duvall, both veter-
ans, made costly mistakes that
cost them valuable time. While
Toth, a relative newcomer to the

pro division, stayed mistake-free
for the most part to get the win.
"I started off with just riding
smoothly in the first test—a Cross
test," said Toth. "The Cross test
is usually my weakness, but I've
been working on my bike skills
and cornering technique. So, I'm
really happy with the way I rode
on Saturday. Then, on Sunday I
knew I had a pretty good cushion
over those guys, so I just tried to
ride as well as I could, but also
stay off the ground and just kind
of play it safe."
Russell rode well enough to
win but made a fatal mistake in
the second test on Saturday that
put him in a hole he was not able
to dig his way out of.
"I got off to an awesome start
in the first test on Saturday, win-
ning the thing," said Russell. "I
